Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji peran strategis komoditas basic cargo (barang kargo dasar) seperti bahan pangan, obat-obatan, dan alat industri ringan dalam sistem manajemen logistik modern, khususnya di bandara regional yang memiliki keterbatasan fasilitas dan infrastruktur. Studi ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana basic cargo dapat dioptimalkan sebagai elemen penting dalam perencanaan rantai pasok, efisiensi waktu bongkar muat, dan pengendalian biaya logistik melalui pendekatan holistik manajemen logistik. Metode analisis deskriptif-kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor kunci seperti strategi pengemasan, teknik konsolidasi muatan, implementasi teknologi informasi dalam pemantauan kargo, serta integrasi sistem logistik pihak ketiga. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam dengan stakeholder logistik, dan analisis dokumen operasional di bandara regional Sumatera. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peningkatan manajemen basic cargo melalui implementasi teknologi RFID, sistem warehouse management (WMS), model hub-and-spoke, dan strategi just-in-time delivery dapat secara signifikan memperkuat efisiensi logistik hingga 35% dan mendukung distribusi regional yang berkelanjutan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa konsolidasi muatan basic cargo dapat mengurangi biaya operasional hingga 25% sambil meningkatkan frekuensi pengiriman.
